Through the AGROALNEXT call for the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed with NextGenerationEU funds, researchers from the Food area of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (FoodUPV) are going to carry out seven R+D+i projects with the objective of contributing to the transformation of the agri-food sector , making it greener, more sustainable, healthy and digital, as well as bridging the gap between scientific discoveries, technology development and its implementation.

The UPV is developing the ECOVID collaborative project, granted by the Valencian Agency for Agrarian Promotion and Guarantee (AVFGA), for the period 2022-2023. Under the need to adapt the vineyard to climate change and promote organic farming, the ECOVID project aims to determine the influence of different agroecological strategies, such as the use of Kaolin, plant cover and compost, on the agronomic response of the vine. the quality of the grape and the conservation of soil and water.

The Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) has held the 1st edition of the UPV Research Awards to recognize the most outstanding researchers in different categories. Among them, Amparo Chiralt, a researcher at the IIAD, received special recognition for her career and for being a reference for many researchers.
Amparo Chiralt has a doctorate in Chemistry, developing her research mainly at the Research Institute of Food Engineering for Development of the UPV. In the last 20 years, her studies have focused on the area of active biodegradable materials for food packaging, through the use of renewable sources. She is the most cited UPV researcher at an international level (HCR and Stanford list) and with the best h-index, and is also the author of more than 10 patents.

Our researcher Amparo Chiralt is number 30 in a ranking of 5,000 women researchers published by the CSIC. This ranking has been prepared according to the H Index or the number of citations, based on data from Google Scholar. This position makes her the first UPV researcher on the list, where 53 university women researchers appear. Of these, seven researchers are related to FoodUPVTT, including Chelo González, Neus Sanjuán or Ana Heredia.
The objective of this ranking is to increase the visibility of the women researchers and their work, using a public tool that is easy to create and consult, such as Google Scholar. More information in the next
